I had an unsatisfying interaction with a local Conservation Authority. The organization was Grey Sauble Conservation Authority - they took a payment for trees to be planted in the region and then refused to follow up, answer e-mails, or provide trees. After many attempts, I had to follow up with a local councillor to make a complaint. Eventually, GSCA refunded my payment. No trees were ever planted, and I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. This organization is obviously not being operated in a professional manner, and desperately needs better oversight. A larger regional Conservation Authority like the one being proposed is desperately needed, so more a professional organization can take the place of the local, unsupervised organization. More Provincial oversight is needed so the staff are compelled to execute the mandate they are charged with. I am in full support of the amalgamated conservation authority plans.
