I am strongly opposed to the amalgamation of Ontario's conservation authorities. This looks very much like another Doug Ford scheme to limit local communities' input and control of what happens in their own backyards, making it easier for the province to assert top-down decision making through pliant agencies that serve his government's agenda. Ford has never respected conservation, biodiversity, land management, or even the protection of prime agricultural land. Not when some big developer buddy of his has some new bright idea for a private mega-project he can use government money to bankroll half the budget of. This needs to stop, we all see through the grift.
