I do not support allowing rural communities the ability adjust their settlement area boundaries and to further incentivize urban sprawl and the paving of employable agricultural lands. Land developers in Ontario already have a tremendous amount of power, money, and influence on politicians and municipal staff for private financial gain. These legislative changes do nothing to protect the interests of communities and will further encourage developers to overstep in their destruction of natural features, cultural heritage, and neighbourhood character. Despite being a conservative, I strongly oppose this move by the Ford government and will make my views known as broadly as possible to connections and professionals.
