As a lifelong resident of Oakville, I am appalled at the province's plan to use an MZO.
Mayor Burton and the Town of Oakville has put forward a solid housing plan to build the required number of units, in a well thought out plan. This plan should be accepted by the province. It accounts for the existing population and services that are needed and also for the growth of the Town and Province.
The provinces plans of buildings in the 40 to 50 story range is shocking. There is NOTHING in the area of Cross Ave and Argus Road with that kind of height and density. The area is already very busy between the QEW, the GO station, and the flow of traffic on Trafalgar Rd.
The province's plan doss not allow for the necessary infrastructure including community services, schools, green spaces and more. This is not a good plan for Oakville, nor any of the people in it.
The residents and community understand the necessity of growth and change. But it needs to be done with more thought for the existing area and the future population that will leave here.
Accept Oakville's proposed plan and start building!
Thank you for your time.
