I strongly oppose the proposed designation of these lands as Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) lands under the Transit-Oriented Communities Act, 2020 and the potential use of a Ministerial Zoning Order (MZO) under s.47(1)(a) of the Planning Act. Read more

I am against the Oakville TOC. I have been a resident of Oakville for 25 years. This growth proposals in the TOC will give this area a greater population density than Hong Kong. Read more

The proposed TOC in Oakville is unfathomable. It is way too dense. Traffic is already at its limit in that area. This is blatantly irresponsible building. Read more

The plan is absolute nonsense. If this goes through, the Ford government will lose my vote in the next election. Why not use the much more sensible OPA70 plan? Read more

This plan is absolutely insane. We cannot support this, we cannot handle the current amount of growth. Our grids and infrastructure cannot handle this amount of development. You are taking away all of our greenery and open spaces. Read more

The Ministry should not unilaterally impose its ill-conceived plan for Oakville Midtown by issuing 4 Minister's Zoning Orders. Issuing MZOs is highhanded and rides roughshod over the community. There will be a political price to pay. Read more

"In response to the plan residents protested, town council voted unanimously to oppose the project and Oakville planning staff issued an 88-page report concluding that the 6,900 condo units represented excessive density with few community benefits." Read more

This irresponsible and draconian decision completely ignores the wishes of the citizens of Oakville. Good luck ever electing a conservative MPP in Oakville if this goes through.

The plan will "result in a development opposed by the majority of Oakville residents due to environmental concerns, tall buildings, high density, severe traffic congestion, the significant cost of infrastructure and unanswered questions as to who will be paying the cost Read more

This proposal would be devastating to the unique and unfortunately, disappearing character of The Town of Oakville. Look at how development enhances the surrounding history and character of places in Europe. ie Kings Cross redevelopment in London England. Read more

I am strongly opposed to the province ramming through an -ill-thought out mega-density condo building project. Where is the regard for sustainable development and the impacts on livability, quality of life for residents, and infrastructure? Read more

Oakville is primarily a family-oriented community. I am not opposed to condo developments but not towers of this magnitude for our town. I understand that the single family type homes built in the 90’s no longer serve the people of our province and our community and we need higher density projects. Read more

This seems like a fantastic plan. Oakville is in desperate need of more housing. Council has repeatedly tried to block this from happening. They complain about not wanting density, but also did not allow 4-as-of-right :( Read more

I have always thought this proposal is too dense for our town of Oakville. The height of the towers are out of total context with our surrounding town. Aside from all of that the extra traffic will cause chaos to our streets. Read more

I think this project completely ignores the true objective of affordable housing. Has there been a true assessment of that density in that small area and the impact on the whole community. Trafalgar and 403 area at 5pm is jammed for atleast an hour every weekday. Read more
