Introducing/implementing more consistency of operation across all of Ontario's Conservation authorities is needed, however this should not lead to further watering down of CA commenting ability (and should reverse lost abilty to comment on certain matters like natural heritage, lost ability to enter into memoranda of understanding with watershed municipalities, should not result in reduced ability to limit development in proximity to or within hazard features and green infrastructure (wetlands), etc.).
Some minor amalgamation of CAs makes sense (e.g. lumping in small CAs like Kettle Creek and Catfish Creek with each other or larger neighbouring CAs like Long Point or the Thames, and lumping the upper and lower Thames CAs together). The amalgamation proposed seems like far too drastic a change in too short a period of time.
