I live in the Grand River watershed. I am asking you to not consolidate the current conservation authorities. The size of the proposed authority for Lake Erie is too massive and encompasses too many rivers. The only benefit will be to permit development on and through marginal wetlands. How will local water management be done properly? Our river hosts a world class brown trout fishery. It provides 100% of the drinking water for Brantford. It has its own flood patterns. You will lose local expertise and there will be many mistakes made. The question is why? What is the pressing need to do this?
