The proposal of the TOC is a gross mismatch of the current Oakville town structure and usage. The existing residential towers near the Oakville GO station are 10-12 stories tall. The proposal advocates for construction of towers a 5 time greater at that would vault Oakville to the top of the population density on the planet.

With the existing structures and traffic to/from to Oakville GO on a weekday afternoon it is already challenging to get from downtown Oakville to the Oakville Mall and beyond for any of my children's sports activities. The inclusion of thousands of additional housing units and the accompanying traffic will make travel along Trafalgar nearly impossible.

The argument that the additional units would not bring additional traffic as its a transit oriented developed is spurious at best and more likely deliberately deceitful. The the argument that someone paying one million dollars for a unit and that they will NOT have or regularly use a car is laughable on its face.

This proposal as currently envisioned is NOT good for Oakville and should be substantially reworked before reconsideration. Oakville already has a plan for midtown that addresses the need for additional housing. That plan is in line with the growth needs of Oakville and ensuring the lifestyle that makes residents choose to live in Oakville.
