Leave the Lakehead Regional Conservation Authority ("LRCA") as its own stand alone conservation organization. The proposal to merge the LRCA with the Huron area conservation authorities is absurd not only due the geographical distance between them but also the population of each of the surrounding areas. These conservation authorities are in vastly different places geographically, have very different needs, population impacts, and communities that they work in. The combination of the Huron area conservation authorities might make sense due to their proximity to one another and the fact that they are in the same watershed. However, the inclusion of the LRCA with the Huron area conservation authorities will only serve to slow down and impact the quality of service, timeliness and responsiveness of the LRCA. The LRCA serves the local community and the monies provided by the provincial and raised by the LRCA should be only be allocated to the local LRCA sites. The proposed combination would see needed funding pulled from the LRCA and allocated to the other conservation areas instead.

Keep the LRCA as its own conservation authority!
