We are a massive geographic area, this is insanely lazy and cheap. At best this is a misguided attempt to save money, and at worst it's a shallow vicious attempt to add static and confusion to environmental protection in the face of potentially damaging developments.

If the province hadn't continually been reducing bylaw enforcement and failed utterly to hire enough officers for the MNR to cover the grounds they're required to police I might be more inclined to support the idea, but without having demonstrated the goodwill to protect our Provincial legacy I have no faith that this proposal isn't ripe for abuse.

I am old enough to remember when most of the farmlands around the GTA got paved over with suburbs, we've wasted too much of our natural bounty in this province.
