Please do not consolidate conservation authorities by region. The current structure of conservation authorities is already stretched for how effectively they can provide programs and communicate accordingly. Some conservation authorities have made incredible strides in providing valuable information, resources and education to the community but I know for a fact it has been a struggle. I know they have already struggled to provide the required resources on the limited budgets they have. Although many have made ends meet, consolidating conservation authorities by region with limit their resources even further. Communities need conservation authorities that know their watersheds, can provide resources and information that is accurate for their community land base. Including installing stormwater catchments where they will be most effective. To protect marshes, meadows and community use areas. Conservation authorities operating within a community create more public interest which is beneficial for both the community and the environment. Climate change is accelerating changes to watersheds and more needs to be done within communities. Consolidating conservation authorities will result in poor management, ineffective use of resources and poor communication and education for the public.
Please do not consolidate the conservation authorities by region.
