I agree with Hamilton Conservation Authority’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Merging local conservation authorities into larger entities risks loss of prioritization and there has been little-to-no information provided on how these larger entities would be funded, or how decisions would be made.
In a time when upholding the rights of nature is imperative, this proposed merger of conservation authorities is a BIG step in the WRONG direction.
