Ontarians do not support this proposal.
This government was elected with a responsibility to protect Ontario’s land, water, and ecosystems - not to weaken environmental safeguards in the name of speed or convenience. These changes reduce oversight, limit public input, and prioritize development interests over long-term environmental protection.
Environmental protections exist because damage is often irreversible. Once wetlands, watersheds, forests, and wildlife habitat are degraded, communities are left with the costs - environmentally, financially, and socially.
Ontarians are paying attention. We will remember how this provincial government chose to weaken environmental protections rather than strengthen them in the face of climate change, biodiversity loss, and growing public concern.
This proposal should be withdrawn.
