Simply put, this proposal makes no sense and will result in a massive loss of capability for effective management of natural lands and resources. The size of these proposed areas are so large that they become essentially meaningless. There will be significantly less direct representation by the individuals living in each. Different areas have different geographies and needs, and the new areas don't even follow watershed boundaries. Furthermore, this plan will cost a considerable amount of money and time, both of which could be better spent on the missions of the current conservation authorities. Finally, amalgamation very very rarely ever goes well across any industry or government and it is a near certainty that this ill-conceived plan will follow suit.
