This is another great example of a poorly developed concept by public sector employees. With a mandate to remove red tape reduce burden, the plan does the complete opposite. In fact it will do more harm at the local level in properly managing and observing the local watersheds. Instead the change is purely being considered to theoretically improve the approval process of building permit requests. However, the proposals fails to consider you still need the qualified bodies at the centralized level to handle the volume. There is still time to required to complete any necessary due diligence before issuing a permit. This will quickly erode under the new proposal. This proposals is a bad idea and is being poorly implemented (see - more details to follow even on the website). This is a clear indication that not adequate planning has undergone before rushing to implementation. Look at everything the finance department made a mess of in the last five years. Now this Ministry is going to jump on board and repeat the same mistakes.
