The current conservation authorities in each area are the subject matter experts in that region. Taking away their authority to manage and restrict or allow changes is contrary to the reason they were established in the first place. They are accountable to the councils in the area who in turn are accountable to the voters. Do not change the current system. Amalgamation always favours those with money and weakens the voices of the regular citizen to stand for or against changes in their local area. Again, do not change the current system. Listen to the local governments, the city councils that have voted against it, the citizens that vote in those councils and leave the current system to manage and run the precious natural assets we are so fortunate to have here. Thanks.
