The consolidation of Conservation authorities will weaken local voices that will be most impacted by the decisions made by these groups. It would push through changes that a local region may not want or need, but the sake of some other regions priorities.
This government has already reduced the authority of the Conservation Authorities, so why the need to prevent them from doing local work.
Forcing a region or a municipality to take on ill thought out plans that benefit very few Ontarians is bad policy, and will harm both democracy and the environment.
Do not proceed with this plan.
