This is the "Harris" philosophy of consolidation for the bettering of the system - which does not take into account or consideration of the communities or individuals living in those areas.
The Hamilton Conservation Authority as department of the City of Hamilton has served our communities well, and have advanced policies which enhance our opportunities to enjoy our various areas, and to protect those areas.
This proposed policy is to create an ease of development in those areas of conservation throughout the province.
Decisions for these conservation areas need to be made locally not from people who are not familiar with them. People on the conservation authority bodies live near these areas, and are well aware of their needs.
The reason for the amalgamation has not been justified.
Once again the Government of Ontario has not sought a mandate from the constituents of the province for this, but believe they know best.
Can't wait for the next election!
