We have been visiting the parks, trails and conservation areas in Dundas, ON and the surrounding region for years and live here as well. We moved here specifically to get away from business and live in a more relaxing environment.
Tourism here is already out of control and in the last few years it has kept locals out of the trails, changed where & what visitors can see, limited our ability to visit trails right in our own neighbourhoods. The possibility of amalgamating various regions into a single one with the possibility of changes to the season passes that could lead to more visitors, less staff management, etc. will further degrade the area.
This is a special place, it is "cottage country" just steps from the City and cannot be appreciated or properly taken care of by people in offices hours away.
