The amalgamation of conservation authorities is a step backwards in Ontario's responsible stewardship of our natural areas. Conservation Authorities were created according to watersheds and each one provides critical expertise on that area. Amalgamation of these authorities diminishes the protections and improvements to ecosystems by removing that unique lens that each one offers. This will only serve to fast track unsustainable development without considering critical natural heritage. This should not move forward.
