I am adamantly opposed to the proposed changes which would see the amalgamation of all provincial Conservation Authorities into 8 regions. I value our Grey Sauble Conservation Authority more than I can begin to say. The stewardship of our environment here is exceptional and can be so because the local knowledge within our authority is thorough and based on a local knowledge and history. This move by the government brings the Greenbelt legislation to mind and it is worrisome to say the very least. I implore the government to reverse this action immediately - the consequences of not doing so could wreak havoc with our water sources, our flood control, the maintenance of our trails and parks and dams and all the other duties currently undertaken by our GSCA.
