Please avoid changing the Eastern Ontario area. We are small communities with high-risk watersheds that require specialized coverage to these specific watersheds. Guaranteed someone sitting in a downtown Ottawa office will not have a clear understanding of the history surrounding our small communities such as those on the South Nation watershed.

As a citizen who’s lived in the South Nation area for well over 20 years, I expect to speak to someone locally when needed. Take for example building permits requiring a site visit from the South Nation Watershed authorities. I foresee this taking much longer if someone from Ottawa is expected to drive all the way down to confirm the wetlands on the property are not in any danger based on the permit.
