Consolidating our conservation authorities will only serve to take decision making out of our communities. While I can't say that our smaller conservation authorities are perfect, they bring so much more care, service, and impact into our communities because it's their community too. If the government would like to reduce processing times, fees, or or help uplift these local organizations, I would support that. I will not, however, support ripping apart a piece of our heritage, conservation, natural resource management, and environmental building management for the sake of bean counters in Toronto... The same government bean counters that seems to forget that half the province exists until they need farms, mines, logging, or some place to put up a cottage.
Keep your hands off my conservation authority.
