It would be such a disservice to our rural communities, the heart of conservation efforts and the areas where we have the most rich, diverse, yet sensitive resources to protect. If the province eliminates our 36 local conservation authorities and replaces them with a few very large provincially-controlled regional agencies, this will remove decision making from local agencies and significantly undermine rural representation. I don’t want big government making decisions for me, because our local authorities are much more attuned to our local resources and challenges facing them. We will be lost in the mix of the larger city issues, which will put a huge strain on our wildlife and natural resources.
