Dear Government of Ontario,

As a citizen of this beautiful and biodiverse province, I implore you to not consolidate Ontario’s conservation authorities. Our authorities exist right now to look after the unique flora and fauna that live and thrive within these individual regions. Consolidation would mean that these individual characteristics and unique biodiversities will be ignored for the sake of what they have in common. I believe that this consolidation proposal comes with an ultimate goal of eventually doing away with conservation. Conservation should not just be the earmarking of land to eventually do away with it, paving over everything for the sake of what is erroneously called “development.” You are representatives of all the people of Ontario, not just those who want to build on it and make great wealth from it. You are civil servants who are to represent us. And I feel that this is just one more way in which you have failed to do so. Please reconsider. Conservation should be about leaving something for future generations. We have already gotten rid of so much beautiful landscape by supposed development, please do not get rid of every last shred of it. Ontarians and all the flora and fauna who make their home in it, depend on it to live. Thanks
