Please don’t combine conservation areas as each has its own unique concerns and local citizens are the best stewards of their conservation areas. The Grand River Conservation Area (GRCA) is so important to our communities and our water needs must be managed locally.
The GRCA areas of authority and funding have already been cut by the government. But the GRCA strives to protect our watershed, freshwater, wetlands, at risk species and to alert us when we’re at risk of flooding.
As a Waterloo citizen with a creek behind my property, I need to be prepared when that creek overflows and threatens to flood my home. Please do not get rid of our GRCA!
