I am not too sure what this conservative government is thinking that they can amalgamate the entire province and its conservation authorities.
This will not work. We need regional people, doing regional work, because they understand what is going on locally in an area. The local conservation authorities do not need advice and bureaucratization for an organization that is running well. Especially in Northern Ontario, where distances are far, and people in the south don't understand the needs of people in the north.
It frustrates me to no end when bureaucrats think that they can go and fix something that isn't broke.
My vote is absolutely NO, do not amalgamate the conservation areas in Ontario.
