If 36 conservation authorities are so important to the conservation of said areas then how can it be expected that without a significant increase in budget and other operating costs, that a similar amount of attention will be paid to the said conservation of these areas. If there is a large concern about how areas are managed in terms of red tape and bureaucracy maybe there needs to be a better look taken at how the conservation authorities act is currently operating instead of just amalgamating everything into one large supra, authority, change budgets allocate more money give more staffing resources. Perhaps our government needs to look into how they can empower people to do better in their jobs and in their workplaces and in their processes instead of just trying to steam-roll and take control of everything, the minister of environmental conservation whatever his job title may be, he’s not the leader and be-all, says-all authority of what should happen and how it should happen. His job is to empower everyone who works under him so that they can do the best at their jobs and that’s not what this proposal is giving those people.
