The importance of conservation authorities is to be experts on their specific area's unique conditions. The geology, ecology, and geography of one area is not the same as another. Forced amalgamation (which has never worked well in the past) is going to put areas together that have very little in common beyond the provincials governments poor sense of geography.

Conservation authorities are there to protect the future is from our current selves dumb choices in the pursuit of profit. They are to make sure don't build on that slope that is extremely likely to collapse without proper shoring and slope improvements or build in an area that will flood the development. Both can result in the loss of human life.

If the government actually cared about making it easier to build in this province they would go after metrolinx and the telecommunication companies. They had years to a project by being unresponsive or indecisive.

The provincial government needs to stop playing mayor of Toronto.
