Firstly, I wonder at the motive behind this move. Putting another layer between the CA's and the government is hardly reducing adminiand bureaucracy. Our regional governments have reduced the cost of fire and police services, true, but 30 years on, and we still don't have equal representation at the table
Secondly, what is the evidence that this is necessary? I have always received great service from our conservation authority When we bought our rural property, they advised me about the local tree varieties, management of the water and gave me tips on handling invasive plants They could do that because they knew my habitat
The Conservation Authorities are the last group that stands between the habitat and wide spread destruction of natural environments I DO NOT support the regionalization of the Authorities
