We think the idea of merging the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority with the proposed Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority is a very bad idea.
It is much too far away from the proposed H-SRCA. The proposed change would lead to far less efficiency of management of the region now served by the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority.
Furthermore, the Ontario government's concerns about long wait times for permits do not apply to the LRCA.
The LRCA does an excellent job. Why try to fix what is not broken?
