The amalgamation of the conservation authorities is a poor idea, an idea that was never subjected to serious consultation and thought prior to the passing of the Bill.
Jettison this idea of amalgamation, please.
Conservation is best delivered locally, with a local board of politicians and residents. Local conservation means conservation attuned to the area, and generally means a quick and nimble response, without a burdensome bureaucracy.
