I would like to state that I directly oppose this plan.
The Ontario government has not stated why these changes are crucial, and that leaves me no option, but to assume that the current premier wants to destabilize conservation in this province, so he can build houses on sensitive lands.
Research shows that locally managed conservation is far more beneficial and effective than regional management. Especially when those regions are so far spread you have multiple water sheds and ecologies within them.
This plan does not support the future of Ontario nor the current quality of life of its residents.
Multiple conservation authorities and municipalities have published their disagreement to this plan for incredibly good reasons and I think those need to be listened to because they are the experts on conservation management, particularly in sensitive regions like Hamilton and Niagara.
Well, I no longer work in the sciences. I do have a bachelor science in geography and feel well educated enough to know that this plan is absolutely dangerous to the future of Ontario.
