I am not in favour of the Ministry's plan to create 7 large regional agencies. Our family has supported the Hamilton Conservation Authority for years. Our Hamilton property backs onto conservation lands. I'm not sure why a well-functioning system needs to be changed. I believe this is an attempt by the Province to take over conservation lands for housing projects to the detriment of our environs. We have been encouraged to buy local and to support Canada so it does not become the 51st state. I therefore believe decision-making should remain local rather than merging 36 conservation authorities.
