This is a wholly unnecessary waste of money designed to weaken Conservation Authorities oversight on our watersheds. Changing all of the conservation authorities is about making them less effective at their very purpose. CA’s protect our environment through preservation of green-spaces, drinking water, clean air, and even our infrastructure (preventing flooding events or reducing their size). This government has made play after play to reduce environmental protection in Ontario and this is a thinly veiled attempt to try again. Please stop this proposal and try working WITH conservation authorities to find strategies that benefit the population without sacrificing the environment.
