As a constituent in Northern Ontario, I oppose this proposal at least insofar as the proposed consolidation in Northern Ontario. The proposal will further disadvantage Northern Ontario. This government should be well aware of the challenges in the North and that “for the North” solutions are needed to address the challenges of Northern Ontario. This proposal is certainly not one for the North. The proposed consolidated areas are too vast and in some ways non sensical. It almost seems that whoever developed the proposed boundaries has never been North of the GTA.
