This is wrong on so many levels.
A development driven express lane along watersheds, wetlands, EPA lands can only lead to horrible results.
Theres an old saying, measure twice and cut once.
When it comes to the environment, we better be as precise as we can in our measurements as once it has been altered or removed, there is no undoing.
By removing, lessening or limiting local expertise and oversight which is currently stretched thin now, this goal will unachievable.
Transparency and accountability is currently in short supply at various Government levels. Adding another challenge to residents at the local level will only exacerbate an already unacceptable situation.
Also the very idea that reasonable and responsible development is a roadblock to current development is at best ridiculous and at worst disingenuous. Instead Reasonable and Responsible Development should be the Gold Standard.
This current effort achieves none of this. In fact it will be a generational disaster.
They say people speak up because the Environment has no voice. This is not true. The Environment does and has been warning us for years.
Let’s hope we heed the call before it is too late.
Vote No to This Amalgamation.
