Locally-based conservation areas ensure that their knowledge and practices are specifically related to the local hazards and conditions within the watershed. Removing individual authorities would weaken the place-based knowledge that our protectors have, threatening to dissolve all the hard work that conservation authorities have already done to strengthen their watershed. I do believe that the consolidation would be detrimental to the local environment and the proposed profits should not be placed above the environment.
