This is an absurd idea. We have seen already the damage done with other public services like education and healthcare.
Environment is not something you play with. It affects the communities people live in and generations to come. I vote an absolute no to amalgamating conservative authorities.
Each authority, has knowledge about the species, plants and biodiversity. How can an umbrella conservation with no background knowledge know how to care for all areas?
How will things be held accountable if something went wrong? Nothing currently has worked in the public services that Doug Ford has messed with, so why attack another item.
Also Ontario is known to be a major hiking trail region. Screwing this up affects tourism, Aka economic value and means for the province, communities, species, animal habitats. What Doug Ford needs is an education, not another public service to slash.
