I disagree with the centralization and reduction of the conservation authorities, as well as the narrowing of their mandate. They have been one of the most effective tools in flood protection and source water protection because of their watershed-based jurisdictional area. Local knowledge and input is key to these two mandates. I have seen this time and time again in Grey County where I am.

I really don't think this is necessary to expedite housing developments. A well-planned, environmentally appropriate development will serve us now and into the future. We will all pay the price for ignoring critical environmental issues.
