I am completely opposed to a consolidation of Conservation Authorities. Municipal amalgamation has shown us that there is no net benefit to taxpayers and the end result is the loss of our voice and autonomy. This proposal will result in a loss of local input, and simply remove our ability to push back against authoritarian rule. If you want to do something useful, just abolish ALL conservation authorities, and give that regulatory power back to local municipalities. If you continue on the current path, eventually the people WILL push back. You people seem to think that you are gods, but you’re not….we know what we want better than you do. And it ain’t this…
