I am a resident of Hamilton, Ontario, and I am against consolidating Ontario's conservation authorities. I agree wholeheartedly with the Hamilton Conservation Authority's submission to the ERO.

I am particularly concerned about flooding and drinking water quality. I think the HCA already does a good job protecting our watershed. I think that local accountability and local relationships help protect local priorities. This is very important to conservation and I do not believe that local knowledge can be replaced effectively with a much larger regional authority. As a resident of the area overseen by the HCA, I want to ensure that my voice is heard on matters of conservation.

I also enjoy visiting HCA's well run conservation areas. I would be disappointed in the Ontatio government if service were to suffer because of this amalgamation.
