With a long career in environmental consulting and education, I can confidently say that condensing the # of conservation authorities to 7, is a travesty to every community in Ontario's watersheds.. We need specific local environmental expertise applied based on topography, drainage, soil, wetlands, population density and land use. We cannot allow Ford's developer buddies' priorities to destroy the legacy of environmental protection, floodplain mgnt and drinking water quality. We've had enough of his environmental decimation in this province. Fifteen conservation authorities would be workable, not 7. For example, clumping Windsor area and Guelph into one large region is unfeasible and unrealistic. Find a water resource mgnt expert and go back to the drawing board to set up realistic watershed/ agency boundaries!!! 🙄😡
