I do not support consolidating 36 conservation authorities into 7 conservation authorities. Local expertise and knowledge is very important for sound decision making. Having 36 conservation authorities allows for strong local representation and engagement. Diverse local environmental programming benefits communities and ecosystems.
The consolidation of conservation authorities seems fiscally irresponsible, and that it could negatively impact local job opportunities in the environmental sector.
