RE; Potential increase of 11,000 people across from Oakville Go Train:
The main issue, as I understand it, is traffic density. The town, I am sure, has undertaken a traffic study. It is already, without the addition of another 11,000 residents and their cars, grid lock around the Oakville Go after a train has arrived..
Also, if the provincial government has ever tried to make a left turn from Cross Ave to Trafalgar Rd. north, they would realize the absurdity of this density in this area. I cannot conceive as to how cars that residents of this proposed project would use, could leave or enter the project without delays that would make residing in this project prohibitive. Furthermore how would taxis, buses or car pickups be possible at the main entrance to Oakville Go.
The location is ideal for use of the Go Train, but car density is unfathomable.
Solution: No parking garage, no cars. Parking for expected visitors to the condominium residents only.
If affordable housing is the issue, is this developer really going to build condo units that are reasonably priced! I doubt it.
If I were the developer, I would try for 22,000 residents. I believe the town has approved about 5,500 additional residents. Either way............................... no more cars in that area!
