We have overwhelming concern for this plan. The MZOs would impose excessive density in Midtown without adequate infrastructure, overwhelming already strained roads, transit, the GO station, and the QEW.
Existing planning rules (OPA 70) already allow very high density, so these increases are unnecessary. The MZOs also remove affordable housing requirements, revealing that the proposal prioritizes developer profits over livability, infrastructure capacity, and the public transit. This is irresponsible and not fully thought out or supported by the province interns of funding the infrastructure. Shame. We disagree with this plan.
