Hello,
As a resident and homeowner in Oakville for 40 years, I have seen the town grow tremendously. We brought up our children, coached sports, and participated in a variety of Oakville activities over the years.
One special place all along for us was downtown Oakville and the waterfront (via travelling south on Trafalgar to the Lakeshore Road).
With population growth comes many variables, including planning and infrastructure. As we are still an active family, we travel frequently in town. Trafalgar Road is the main north-south route and is very busy around the QEW area. During rush hours, from 3 to 7 ?, at the GO station area, there is gridlock traffic. We just sit in our vehicle and wait for movement.
The proposal to increase accommodations to an extreme level in this specific area is outrageous. This proposal by the Ontario government is not even reasonable, and very expensive and disruptive, especially for the residents of Oakville. There are other options available for expansion in Oakville, especially north of Dundas and west.
Please defeat this proposal in order to maintain this beautiful and wonderful town, to bring up a family, and continue to have a good quality of life in Oakville.
Thank you.
