I am seriously concerned…

I am seriously concerned about the Open for Business Bill 66 that is proposed. I live in a country area inside the Green Belt and am aware of how more Wells, infrastructure and Roads can impact the existing homes and business once more building is allowed.

We are affecting wild life in ways that are becoming unsustainable for many species and we should be expanding the Green Belt not destroying areas that have been protected so carefully for so many years. More building makes a mockery of all the research and care that have been taken for decades.

Farmers are being squeezed out of land that is so productive - where is our food going to come from? We should be buying locally grown food so we are not dependent on China and the US for food. They don't care about us as trading partners and so we should try to be as food independent as possible and keep farm land for farmers and not for Malls.

i will be writing to Councillors on Hamilton City Council to ask them to not implement this Open for Building Bill in our area. The speed with which this Ontario Govt. is acting is terrible - and after the Election Promise that the Green Belt would be secure. I will never trust anything else that you say and you will never get my vote.
