We need trees to be included as Municipal Green Infrastructure. Trees provide a wide range of healthy and cost saving opportunities for all communities. Healthy air, reduction of green house gases, shade, temperature reduction, stormwater runoff controls, healthy communities, energy saving opportunities and much more. We need trees to be regulated through the planning act. Trees cannot be an afterthought for developers and they cannot be left up to planning departments. Trees need to be regulated, planted and maintained by certified Foresters or Arborists that know trees. Trees have to be treated as infrastructure with a community, not just left up to a feel good thought at the end of the day. Municipal Certified Arborist for the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville
