I question the rationale and science behind this proposed EMA. A close look at this area on Google Earth and the rationale, not to allow any new access or trails, aesthetics etc , clearly identifies what is really going on here. The few who have had the opportunity to develop camps, trails etc now want to keep the many out of this area. The only benefit of this EMA is to those who "were there first". They have crafted a nice story as to why this area should be an EMA, and conducted a lot of lobbying efforts but their story is a thinly veiled attempt to protect "their" lakes and/or increase the value of their assets to the detriment of other forest users.

Many places in Northwestern Ontario contain values that are utilized by a limited number of users/individuals, like my favourite/secret fishing spots, but they do not attract an EMA designation nor should this area. A dangerous president will be set for any and all who can spin a good story and lobby the right people.

If the conservation/preservation of the values in this area, ie. fishery and remoteness, are truly valuable to the province and their protection is truly in the long-term interest of the public at large all access, structures, docks etc should be required to be removed and the area assigned fish sanctuary status.
